Lovely, beautiful, clean and very comfortable station. You can always buy flowers here. I find it wonderful when the Hilversumers and visitors play the piano at the station. This is very nice.
Kiosks/coffee places (not coffeeshops!) on (almost?) all tracks. Nothing like getting a nice warm latte after walking/cycling/stressing to get to the station in time EARLY in the morning. Also you get outside the roof without walking another kilometer! (Now why would I walk outside of the roof. Not a logical thing as smoking is not allowed in any station area in Netherlands. I am ofcourse not disputing the law or giving advices on how to break them. ) Actually it is/was designated areas under roof where smoking are allowed(I am pretty sure, I might be thinking of another station), however not all kinds of smoking is popular in this areas. I think ofcourse of sigarsmoke and other strong smelling stuff you smoke!(And I know smoking will slowly and surely kill me, and I still make my review of a train station be about the possibility to slowly kill yourself. I am an idiot!!However, I hope I made you smile and get some information regarding the station. I focused on that may be different from all other stations in Netherland, and what is important to me!
Connection's are good because it is a intercity stop and there is a decent sized busstop. Also it's a little walk away from the centre of Hilversum. But I do wish there was a shop open after 11pm.
